Comprehensive Flow Converter

Flow rate is a critical parameter in fluid dynamics and engineering, representing the volume of fluid that passes through a given area per unit time. Our Flow Converter provides an extensive set of units—from cubic meters per second to liters, gallons, and even smaller units—to help you perform accurate conversions for various applications such as water supply, industrial processes, and HVAC systems.

What Units Are Covered?

Our converter supports a complete range of flow units with conversion factors defined relative to cubic meter/second [m³/s]:

  • Metric Units:

    • Cubic meter/second [m³/s] (base unit)

    • Cubic meter/day [m³/d], Cubic meter/hour [m³/h], Cubic meter/minute

    • Liter/day [L/d], Liter/hour [L/h], Liter/minute [L/min], Liter/second [L/s]

    • Milliliter/day [mL/d], Milliliter/hour [mL/h], Milliliter/minute [mL/min], Milliliter/second [mL/s]

  • Imperial and US Units:

    • Gallon (US) in various time intervals (day, hour, minute, second)

    • Gallon (UK) in various time intervals

    • Kilobarrel (US)/day, Barrel (US) in various time intervals

    • Acre-foot in various time intervals

    • Hundred-cubic foot in various time intervals

  • Small Volume Units:

    • Cubic centimeter in various time intervals

    • Cubic inch in various time intervals

  • Special Cases (Fuel Flow):

    • Flow rates for gasoline expressed in pounds (per second, minute, hour, day)

    • Flow rates in kilograms for gasoline

How Does It Work?

Our converter uses a two-step process:

  1. Convert to the Base Unit:
The input value is first converted to cubic meters per second using the conversion factor of the selected “From” unit.

  2. Convert to the Target Unit:
The value in m³/s is then converted to the desired “To” unit using its corresponding conversion factor.

This method ensures precise and consistent conversions for all your flow rate calculations.
