Comprehensive Radiation-Activity Converter

Radiation activity measures the number of radioactive decays per unit time and is expressed in becquerels (Bq). Our Radiation-Activity Converter allows you to convert between various units—from the SI base unit, becquerel, to larger multiples such as terabecquerels, gigabecquerels, megabecquerels, kilobecquerels, and smaller units such as millibecquerels. It also supports traditional units like curie (Ci) and its multiples, along with rutherford and disintegration rates.

What Units Are Covered?

Our converter supports a complete range of radiation-activity units with conversion factors defined relative to becquerel [Bq]:

  • Becquerel [Bq] (base unit)

  • Terabecquerel [TBq]: 1 TBq = 1.0E+12 Bq.

  • Gigabecquerel [GBq]: 1 GBq = 1.0E+9 Bq.

  • Megabecquerel [MBq]: 1 MBq = 1.0E+6 Bq.

  • Kilobecquerel [kBq]: 1 kBq = 1.0E+3 Bq.

  • Millibecquerel [mBq]: 1 mBq = 0.001 Bq.

  • Curie [Ci]: 1 Ci = 37,000,000,000 Bq.

  • Kilocurie [kCi]: 1 kCi = 37,000,000,000,000 Bq.

  • Millicurie [mCi]: 1 mCi = 37,000,000 Bq.

  • Microcurie [µCi]: 1 µCi = 37,000 Bq.

  • Nanocurie [nCi]: 1 nCi = 37 Bq.

  • Picocurie [pCi]: 1 pCi = 0.037 Bq.

  • Rutherford: 1 rutherford = 1,000,000 Bq.

  • One/second [1/s] and Disintegrations/second: 1 decay/second = 1 Bq.

  • Disintegrations/minute: 1 dpm ≈ 0.0166666667 Bq.

How Does It Work?

Our converter uses a two-step process:

  1. Convert to the Base Unit:
The input value is first converted to becquerels (Bq) using the conversion factor for the selected “From” unit.

  2. Convert to the Target Unit:
The value in Bq is then converted into your chosen “To” unit using its corresponding conversion factor.

This method ensures precise and consistent radiation activity conversions for your scientific and engineering applications.
