How the Converter Works
Our converter uses Kelvin as the standard reference point:
Converting to Kelvin:
When you input a temperature value, the tool converts it to Kelvin using the appropriate formula for the selected unit:Celsius to Kelvin: Add 273.15.
Fahrenheit to Kelvin: Use the formula: (°F + 459.67) × 5/9.
Rankine to Kelvin: Multiply by 5/9.
Reaumur to Kelvin: Multiply by 1.25 and add 273.15.
Triple Point of Water: Uses a fixed factor relative to 273.16 K.
Converting from Kelvin:
Once the temperature is expressed in Kelvin, it is then converted into the target unit using the inverse of the above formulas.
